Mike Knuble battles Sean Collins for the puck

Dcist used this image fromĀ  Caps Training Camp for their recap of last nights game. Robin and I were at the Verizon Center for the game, sitting in the lower bowl because preseason games never fill up. The offense was fantastic! The Caps top line demonstrated some beautiful passing and finishing, and newcomer Mike Knuble showed why he was signed by scoring a goal off his leg in front of the net and a pretty wrister from the top of the slot. Alexander Semin flashed one of the most beautiful feeds I’ve seen in a long time on the powerplay, with a no look, behind the back pass right onto Ovechkin’s stick. Ov then easily beat Chicago’s (probable backup) goalie Corey Crawford. It was a great 1st night of the hockey season for us.
